Hana Vase

This vase can be found in the OUR Magazine number 9, available at Sasuga book store. It was folded with White Granite Paper.

Finishing Technique: The model was folded, then unfolded and Sepia Dye Ink was stippled on all creases for an ancient look. Then the flower designs were embossed with a brass stencil. Chalks were then applied to the flowers by putting the stencil back on the top of the paper over the embossed design (the stencil is now used as a mask for the Chalking (use any soft pastel chalks) I used yellow as a base coat and red; orange; and green for the highlights. After complete, apply a spray fixative like Clear Matte Acrylic Sealer , to preserve the chalking. I then refolded the vase (Wet folded by applying water to the back unfinished side). Mat acrylic finish was then applied to protect the chalking.
